Poland have won just one of their last 20 games with Germany but Joachim Löw says the world champions they will have to be on their guard against one of the best counterattacking sides around.

Possible line-ups:
Germany: Neuer; Höwedes, Hummels/Mustafi, Boateng, Hector; Kroos, Khedira; Müller, Özil, Draxler; Götze.

Doubtful: Hummels (calf)

Poland: Fabiański; Piszczek, Glik, Pazdan, Jędrzejczyk; Błaszczykowski, Krychowiak, Mączyński, Kapustka; Milik, Lewandowski.
Out: Szczęsny (thigh)

Germany opened their EURO 2016 bid with a professionally taken 2:0 victory over Ukraine. Their opponents didn’t look naive and had their own chances, but the Germans played their game, were at the level they needed to obtain a three pointer and didn’t have to move out of the first gear in order to beat Ukrainians. Mustafi opened the scoreline in 19th minute, while the victory got sealed only during additional time with a goal from Schweinsteiger.

The team will surely now look to get better of Poland, with the team already feeling quite comfortable regarding their progress to the knock out stage, as they remain to play against probably weakest link in Group C – Northern Ireland. Defender Mats Hummels will miss here for them, which means that Shkodran Mustafi will continue to partner Jerome Boateng in the heart of their defense.

Low might name an unchanged squad here, giving another chance to Gotze in attack. Mario Gomez should settle with a place at the bench. Germans should be playing in 4-2-3-1 formation with Gotze at the top of attack, but also Muller, Ozil and Draxler as his first offensive support behind him.

Poland was better for the most of the game against Northern Ireland and in the end deservedly celebrated narrow 1:0 victory over them, thanks to a goal from Milik at the start of the second half. Polish side dominated from the first moments and the opponents were never actually completely concrete in attack, not even from the moment they conceded a goal.

This victory represent vital three pointer for them, as the team remains also to play against Ukraine in the third round, but will be hoping to make a surprise here and repeat their performance against the Germans from qualifiers when they landed 2:0 victory, their only one in previous six attempts. Even though goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny sustained a thigh injury against Northern Ireland, he is expected to start between the posts again.

Polish side should be playing in 4-4-1-1 formation with Lewandowski as number nine and Milik just behind him, acting as more of a offensive midfielder. They might go unchanged here as well, which should mean youngster Bartosz Kaputska continuing at the left after he impressed in the first round game.

Germany remains favorite here and should be able to get the victory, but the Polish side is very quality upfront and almost surely have the means to score at least once, if not twice. Therefore, I believe that the match itself will be very quality in attacking way and the odds do look worth a try for me.
